Hello! Welcome! How are you? On second thoughts, don't answer that. This is a page about me *clears throat*

Who is that girl i see?
My name is Lucy Luck, I am obsessed with Disney, a keen bean runner, wanderlust traveler and I say “mate” far too much that you'd think it was my Touretts expression. Before you ask, yes that is actually my real name and if you are holding back the urge to ask “Do you get lots of Luck?” Well, that completely depends on what you consider lucky? Personally, for me that would be eating my veggie wrap from McDonalds, already several days deep committed to Monopoly. Peeling away the three stickers (I know right? THREE STICKERS ON ONE WRAP!) in one slow satisfying motion to reveal I have, in fact, finally found the rare and elusive...Mayfair sticker! #winning

I was born and raised in London, North London, in a place called Enfield. About an hour from Central London or an hour and a half if you cruise on the Piccadilly Line to more or less the end of the line. If you chose this route, claim a seat and get comfy, it's a long ride but an interesting one! I once shared a tube and 307 bus ride all the way home with a fabulous 50 something year old cockney drag queen wearing knee length leather kinky boots, a studded shoulder leather biker jacket, a rainbow feather boa (probably from the £1 shop party section, my hero) and a pair of vintage elbow length gloves married with
all sorts of jewelry. I knew exactly where she had just come from, she had a night out in Camden Town!
I lived here for my whole life, I went to Primary school, Secondary school (Dream, Believe Achieve days, never forget) and collage to study BTEC Animal Care and Management. Graduating with a FdSc in Animal Management and Zoology, all in little ol' Enfield!
Why study animals?

I have always been passionate about animals, I grew up with two cats called Harry and Hermione (wingardium leviosaaa), chickens, fish, hamsters and even fostered a dog (awaiting for the day i can adopt my own pooch to satisfy my dogless dog loving heart!)
I've worked on a farm during lambing seasons, in a vet clinic and behind the scenes in a zoo shadowing and helping keepers with their daily jobs, trying to figure out what it it I wanted to do exactly. All i knew was that my heart was set on working with animals. I wanted to feel like I could talk to the animals like Dr. Dolittle and live among them like Tarzan. It wasn't until I went to college and embarked on a once in a life time trip to the Amazon Rainforest volunteering at a rescue and rehabilitation center that everything changed! I realised my passion and heart truly lies within animal field-based research conservation and travelling the world, which most of the time can come hand-in-hand...BOOM BABY!
What did i do after graduating?
I took a gap year after graduating from my FdSc working full time in a cinema, as a barista? Yep! In fact I become a became a Coffee Master and was knighted with a black apron *sassy finger clicks* I abused the benefits and watched limitless amounts of free movies, coming home with bags of coffee beans to a H-U-G-E Toy Story 4 tapestry (I WILL be shrink wrapping this onto my first car). I worked to save money to travel, and that's exactly what I did! I explored little pockets of Europe, most of which were solo trips by myself, to then going on my biggest adventure yet in Thailand for a month – it was defiantly one of the best experiences of my life so far!
Where am i now?
I didn't budge for 21 years but for many years my family tried to move to the coast. It failed year after year after year, it was like a broken record we just couldn't break away. Until last year, the deed finally happened and in the summer of 2019 i was starting my new life in the land of pirates and pasties in Penzance, Cornwall!

Since moving, I have discovered that Stitch is my true Patronus catching waves for the first time and learning how to surf. Eating pasties and cream teas became the norm, I tried Cornish mead wine, ate fish 'n' chips and FUDGE LOTS OF FUDGE! I completely fully emerged myself into this new lifestyle, from city to coastal countryside and I have absolutely loved every second of it!
Except for the phrase “Get it done dreckly”
What am I doing now?
I am now part of my local marine conservation group, I have volunteered for the Cornish Wildlife Trust a few times and even ran my own conservation awareness event – a silent disco beach clean! I decided it was finally time for me to go back to uni and applied to complete a top-up degree to polish off my FdSc into a BSc Zoology degree. Accepted into Cornwall College Newquay (whoop whoop!) I now know i have bench mark to look forward too and that is that I will be returning to my studies this September. Until then I plan to work during the summer, mingle with the Cornish locals and explore and experience everything Cornwall has to offer this summer!
*sigh* Then 2020 coughed and sneezed causing the whole world to freeze. There seems to be no sign of intelligent life anywhere. Jobs are no longer on the cards for me due to the stress the pandemic has caused for both local businesses and tourism. Living my days like Rapunzel locked away in her tower, wondering when will me life begin?
Why blog though?
Well, I now (like most people) have A LOT of time on my hands with nothing else to commit to apart from Netflix and Disney Plus, this blog was born during desperate times! While we all day dream of a life post-covid, I will be bringing this blog to life in the comfort of my own isolation den to yours, oops i mean home!
Hungry? Time to pour some syrup on that because that was a lot of waffle, if you made it to the end firstly a massive thank you for taking the time to read my first post! Secondly, congratulations! I would like to award you the highest honour I can bestow...The Ellie badge.
Stay home and stay safe,
Aloha!
